If you cannot find the truth

right where you are,

where else do you expect to find it?

I Know The Way You Can Get. from Hafiz

I know the way you can get
When you have not had a drink of Love:

Your face hardens,
Your sweet muscles cramp.

Children become concerned
About a strange look that appears in your eyes
Which even begins to worry your own mirror
And nose.

Squirrels and birds sense your sadness
And call an important conference in a tall tree.
They decide which secret code to chant
To help your mind and soul.

Even angels fear that brand of madness
That arrays itself against the world
And throws sharp stones and spears into
The innocent
And into one's self.

O I know the way you can get
If you have not been drinking Love:
You might rip apart

Every sentence your friends and teachers say,
Looking for hidden clauses.
You might weigh every word on a scale

Like a dead fish.

You might pull out a ruler to measure
From every angle in your darkness
The beautiful dimensions of a heart you once
Trusted.

I know the way you can get
If you have not had a drink from Love's
Hands.

That is why all the Great Ones speak of
The vital need
To keep remembering God,
So you will come to know and see Him
As being so Playful
And Wanting,
Just Wanting to help.

That is why Hafiz says:
Bring your cup near me.
For I am a Sweet Old Vagabond
With an Infinite Leaking Barrel
Of Light and Laughter and Truth
That the Beloved has tied to my back.

Dear one,
Indeed, please bring your heart near me.
For all I care about
Is quenching your thirst for freedom!
All a Sane man can ever care about

Is giving Love!

Thanks to Avril for introducing us to this..! Dawni x

Sunday thoughts

A hug is a great gift, one size fits all.

If you see someone without a smile GIVE THEM YOURS.

Remember the magic within you.
Have a happy day.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1st IS WORLD AIDS DAY

Blessed Breath
Inhale I willThe breath of life
To get my fill
And exhale strife

Absorb the sunshine
Into my skin
And beam with a glow
That comes from within

Walk with life
Through all my days
And run from darkness
And purple haze

The breath of life
Was given to me
Through the breath of life
Is how now I can see

A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

The Happiness Project - A Poem by Caroline Manning © 2006

My definition of happiness: Feeling a deep delight and glee in being me.

The Happiness Project 2006

What I’ve learned about happiness I thought I would write
So that others could learn of my happiness flight

A choice to be made - to be happy and free
Who knew I’d determined it all... at age 3!

I take little steps and have small things to do
like resting and writing and being kind too,

Yes, I’ve taken a vow to be grateful and kind
And each day I try to keep this in mind

a sweet little vow to be kinder to me
and each day I write down 10 great things that I see

I forget and I falter but then I remember
to make happiness my focus and then there is splendour

I’m complete, I AM perfect, it is just as I knew…
we are not full of Sin like they said in church pews

some weeks go by, a workshop or two
an Angel in contact with me and with you

A new buddy, a friend, a new mirror for me
to reveal my resistance to being happy

what wonder, what amazement, things so deeply ingrained
Ah! the things we are told that make us insane!

searching and looking and yet never finding,
because someone was missing, I needed reminding.

I’ve let go of the suffering, the cross to bear,
and stopped running everywhere…and here and there

It’s not in a dress nor a pair of shoes,
I’ve learned instead to be loving and true

to take time out, some time to be free
to meet myself often and to learn to be me

to breathe from the tummy
and to count…. In…. and then out

to accept the worry, the tears and the doubt
to sit and be quiet and let me be me

In that moment of silence, in that moment I’m free
I’m aware… “I AM Happy”… in that moment I see…

I’ve done nothing for it! I want to shout “Wheeeee!”
It’s amazing, so awesome, so totally free

I saved a moment to just be alive
Instead of always having to strive

at last I’ve made contact, I’ve really jumped in
to this deep bubbling joy that comes up from within

I take a deep breath and I feel myself grin :)
I AM happy, life IS perfect, THIS is Win:Win!

THE MYSTERY OF FRIENDSHIP

LIGHT IS GENEROUS If you ever had occasion to be out early in the morning before the dawn breaks, you will have noticed that the darkest time of night is immediately before dawn. The darkness deepens and becomes more anonymous. If you had never been to the world and never known what a day was, you could'nt possibly imagine how the darkness breaks, how the mystery and the colour of a new day arrives. Light is incredibly generous, but also gentle. When you attend to the way the dawn comes, you learn how light can coax the dark.
The first fingers of light appear on the horizon, ever so deftly and gradually, they pull the mantle of darkness away from the world. Quietly, before you is a mystery of a new dawn, the new day.
Emerson said : "No-one suspects the days to be gods".
It is one of the tragedies of modern culture that we have lost touch with these primal thresholds of nature. The urbanisation of modern life has succeeded in exiling us from fecund kinship with our mother Earth.
Fashioned from the Earth we are souls in clay form. We need to remain in rhythm with our inner clay voice and longing
"No-one would be that stu---"

Susan stopped. Of course someone would be that stupid. Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in a cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying "End of the World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH!!", the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
"Thief of Time" - Terry Pratchett
Don't touch the red button!!!
:-)

Are YOU wise?

True wisdom is less presuming than folly.
The wise man doubteth often, and changeth his mind;
the fool is obstinate, and doubteth not;
he knoweth all things but his own ignorance.

Can YOU see the giraffe?

How mysterious! Someone else posted the Happiness - Go On Ahead, below .. I had no idea it was going to end up on this blog (but I'm not complaining :) 'Hope you find like it.

As an aside, following on from Robert's mention of meditating and keyholes ..

As a coach and therapist, I am always interested in how we perceive things differently. Some people find that if they become very still, and focus purely on watching a particular picture they will see a giraffe emerge. Amazing eh?

I wonder if you are someone who can do this .. have YOU the power of focus? Can you shut out all other thoughts sufficiently long for the giraffe to appear in the picture below ?!

Scroll down, and try!
